If you're setting up lighting for an event, whether it's a corporate trade show, a music performance or a theater production, you'll probably have to hang projectors and lights at some point. Our gobo image projects are perfect for these situations, but you should be sure to follow a few simple steps when setting up your lighting rig.
- Always follow the same order when hanging your lights. If you have multiple gobos, go through the mounting process one at a time in the same way. This makes it easier to ensure that you don't miss a step and the projector crashes down to the floor during your show.
- Leave enough slack in your power cable so that the projector can be adjusted once it is hung. It's never a good idea to work with cables that are too tight. Once you have all your projectors and lights situated, make sure to tie up any loose cables so that they aren't dangling. Use a safety cable to make sure the light is properly secured.
- Tighten the mounting bolts only as much as needed to keep the light in place. If you over-tighten, you could damage the threading on the bolt, and you'll also have more difficulty resituating the gobo if you need to refocus it or change its position.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that you should find out if there are local safety regulations dictating how lighting equipment should be hung.
